About GVNC
Established in 1974, the Great Valley Nature Center is dedicated to providing quality environmental education and outdoor recreational experiences for schoolchildren, organized groups, and the general public of Chester County and the surrounding Greater Philadelphia region. Our goals at the Nature Center are to stimulate an awareness and understanding of our planet and to promote a sense of responsibility and the skills its care. The Nature Center offers a wide variety of environmentally based programs (including school, scout, summer camp, and outreach) that are designed to meet the needs of any level, from pre-school to senior citizens. The Passport Program & American Horticultural Society
Members of the GVNC receive exceptional value for their membership dollar. The Center is a member of the Association of Science – Technology Centers (visit www.astc.org for information) and through our involvement in its passport program, all those who become new members or renew their membership with us are able to present their GVNC membership card at science technology centers throughout the US and the world to gain free admittance at fellow participating museums or centers. We have also joined the American Horticultural Society (AHS)! This means your current membership grants you special admission privileges at botanical gardens, arboreta, and conservatories throughout the United States. For an online directory of participating organizations (visit www.ahs.org for information.) Now, while on vacation or while visiting family and friends, you will be able to sample more than 500 of the world’s greatest science centers, botanical gardens, nature centers, and arboreta free of charge!
